Medium
sized corner pub that was formerly known as the
Courtyard. The bar has an S shaped wooden bar and a
stone floor, that has a nice mosaic pattern. There
is plenty of comfortable lounge type seating
throughout with some high chairs next to the bar.
The decor is very modern with a mixture of red, blue
and mustard colours. There is nice ornate lighting
fixtures on the walls and spotlighting to the
ceiling. The bar is very bright and airy with
shuttered windows to the front, which are usually
open in fine weather. Regular music is on play at
most times with a DJ a regular feature at weekends.
There are several games machines on display. The pub
is very popular and busy on most nights, especially
at the weekend. It is mainly frequented by primarily
the younger gay clientele at the weekend, but is
attracting a mixed crowd through the week due to its
location. There is an outside seating area with
wooden chairs and metallic tables that is provided
in the summer. The bar has air conditioning
throughout. Upstairs there is the bar "Heavens
Above" that is open on certain nights and also
attracts a steady gay clientele. Disabled access to
main bar very good with a designated disabled toilet
to the rear. Toilets are small and clean.
Price:
Moderate.
